This was revealed at the German Coffee Association during an excursion of Ugandan young coffee farmers taking part in the Coffee Exchange Programme. Uganda’s Coffee Exports to Germany last year were worth 851,312 60kg Bags of green coffee.
Visiting Deutscher Kaffeeverband enabled the participants to learn about the role the association plays. It represents the coffee sector’s diverse players, from Nestlé to small specialty companies, covering certification, trade, roasting, and packaging.
The association promotes sustainability, fair trade, and innovation in the coffee supply chain. While there they learned about the EU Deforestation Regulation extension to Dec 30, 2026.
