Our Background

The Young Farmers’ Federation of Uganda (UNYFA)

The Young Farmers Federation of Uganda (UNYFA) is an umbrella organization for young farmers in Uganda, started in 2016 and launched in June 2017, as a duly incorporated member-based organization, with a registration number 80020000478713 under section 18(3) of Companies Act 2012. UNYFA has over 72-member associations which are District Young Farmers Associations, Youth Agro-based initiatives and school agricultural clubs, totaling to over 41,000 individual young farmers.
Nationwide Outreach

The Federation operates countrywide in six regions

Namely: West Nile; Northern; Far Eastern; Eastern; Central and Western Region, and is driven by the desire to have a holistically transformed youth in agriculture for a sustainable economy: UNYFA’s target age group is of youth between 12 to 39 years who are rural and/or urban Agro-based and young farmers in and out of school/ Institutions.

 » Since 2017, we have been organizing two Agribusiness Tours every year,
with the main rationale being the need to expose passionate farmers to
various agricultural ventures across the country. The tour offers an array
of activities, central among which is learning how food comes about.
