Hartwel Odur

Project Officer

Although Hartwel Odur is a social scientist by profession, he has over 7 years of experience in another field.

Born and raised in a small village in Akokoro, Apac District, he developed a passion for farming at an early age as a result of being raised in a farming homestead. He earned his bachelor's degree in social science from Makerere University.

Throughout his career, Hartwel has worked with farmer organizations such as the Uganda National Farmers Federation as an executive assistant to the president/board and is currently working with the Young Farmers Federation of Uganda as a project officer managing the International Young Farmers Exchange Program.

He is best known for his contribution in exposing Ugandan young farmers to Europe (Germany) for the past five years. These are mostly young farmers who are interested in understanding the global food systems through the International Young Farmers Exchange Programme. (IYFEP).

He currently resides in Kampala, Uganda, where he enjoys playing and watching football and motorsport and listening to good music.
